Abiodun Eset, the Senior Special Assistant to President Tinubu on Community Engagement, has urged Nigerians to actively support the present administration’s agricultural revolution.
She gave this charge during the maiden edition of the Kogi state interactive commodity fair in Lokoja, themed “Celebrating the Resilience and Roles of Smallholder Farmers in Sustaining Food Security in Nigeria” where the Kogi state government showcased exhibitions and facilitated networking.
Emphasizing agriculture’s pivotal role in Nigeria’s economic growth and food security, Eset reiterated the government’s commitment to enhancing the agricultural sector. She called upon farmers nationwide to support the government’s initiatives for achieving self-sufficiency in food production.
Additionally, Eset issued a direct challenge to local farmers and processors involved in the rice and cassava value chains, urging them to improve their livelihoods.
Similarly, Dr. Fatima Aliyu, the national programme coordinator of the Federal Government’s International Fund for Agricultural Development and Value Chain Development Programme, represented by Baba Yakubu, had earlier expressed appreciation to Governor Yahaya Bello for his contribution towards the development of agriculture and livelihood of farmers in the state.
