The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) FCT Command, has announced plans to establish an operational base for agro-rangers in Kuje to address security concerns within the area council.
This move comes as part of efforts to resolve conflicts between farmers and herders, as well as to safeguard agro-allied investments nationwide.
During a recent surveillance of the Dafara community, FCT NSCDC Commandant Olusola Odumosu, represented by Deputy Commandant Okon Offiong, emphasized the base’s role in combating kidnapping and farmer-herder clashes.
Odumosu highlighted the corps’ commitment to ensuring the security of farmers and agricultural investments. He also stressed the importance of promoting peaceful coexistence through the use of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
The community of Dafara, through Chief Peter Shekarau, expressed gratitude for the NSCDC’s intervention. Chief Shekarau acknowledged the pressing security challenges in the area and across the nation. He pledged the community’s full support in facilitating the operations of the deployed personnel.
