In a bid to create more awareness on climate matters, Clean Technology Hub is set to hold an inaugural Nigerian Students’ Climate Summit, taking place in Abuja in June.

This groundbreaking event aims to spark climate action and empower the next generation of environmental leaders.

In collaboration with the Department of Science, Technology, and Innovation under the Federal Capital Territory Authority Education Secretariat, and with the generous support of the Skoll Foundation, Clean Technology Hub is poised to make a meaningful impact.

The Nigerian Students’ Climate Summit is specifically designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and inspiration needed to tackle the pressing challenges of climate change. By bringing together young minds from across Nigeria, the summit will facilitate a dynamic exchange of ideas, nurture innovation, and cultivate a sense of collective responsibility for our planet’s future.

A highlight of the summit is the Clean Tech Innovation Challenge, which invites students to develop and pitch innovative solutions to real-world environmental problems. This exciting competition will provide a platform for students to showcase their creativity, critical thinking, and entrepreneurial spirit.

According to Clean Tech CEO and founder Ms Ifeoma Malo, “Empowering students is crucial to driving meaningful change in the fight against climate change. We believe that by investing in the next generation of environmental stewards, we can create a more sustainable future for all.”

“This summit is not just an event; it’s a transformative platform for students to gain invaluable insights, connect with like-minded peers, and unlock their potential as future climate champions. By participating in this summit, students are taking a significant step towards shaping a sustainable future, filled with hope and possibilities.”

The summit’s agenda will feature renowned experts, policymakers, and industry leaders who will share their insights and experiences on renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, green technology, and climate policy topics. Interactive workshops, panel discussions, and hands-on activities will give students practical tools and strategies to implement sustainable solutions in their communities.

Ms Malo added, “The Student Climate Summit is not just a learning opportunity, but also a platform for students to connect with industry leaders, policymakers, and like-minded peers. This inclusive environment celebrates innovation and collaboration, allowing attendees to network, exchange ideas, and forge lasting connections.”
