The Nasarawa State government has announced plans to partner with Mahindra, India’s leading tractor and farm implement manufacturer, to establish a tractor maintenance workshop within the state.
Governor Abdullahi Sule made this known during his visit to Mahindra’s plant in Nagpur, India while discussing with Mahindra’s top executives.
Governor Sule expressed his confidence in the company’s capabilities and emphasised the substantial benefits a tractor maintenance facility would bring to Nasarawa State.
The governor also highlighted the importance of collaboration in manpower development, advocating for the training and re-training of young people in technical and technology-driven fields.
He stressed that such initiatives would enhance local expertise and drive technological advancement within the state.
Governor Sule’s visit to the Nagpur plant included an extensive two-hour tour of the facility, where he engaged with technical staff and department heads. He participated in quality testing, virtual painting, and even drove a 75-horsepower tractor to personally experience the machinery.
Concluding his visit, Governor Sule inspected various departments and facilities at the GH Raisoni College of Engineering, further solidifying the state’s commitment to fostering educational and technological growth.
