Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State facilitated the distribution of N221,760,000 in cash, food items, and wrappers to over 67,454 vulnerable individuals in Ngala Local Government Area.
This allocation took place at five centers situated in Gamboru, Wulgo, and Ngala, critical communities hosting a substantial number of internally displaced persons.
The initiative commenced on Sunday, where 44,352 women beneficiaries received N5,000 in cash along with a wrapper each. On Monday, 23,102 male heads of households were provided with one bag of rice and one bag of maize grain during the exercise at the specified centers in Ngala.
“Yesterday (Sunday), we distributed non-food items to about 44,352 women in Ngala Local Government Area. Each of them received N5,000 and a wrapper. This morning (Monday), we are distributing food items to 23,103 male heads of households. Each of them will receive one bag of rice and one bag of maize to cushion their hardship,” Zulum said.
The governor extended appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for donating the Borno State Government with approximately 10,000 bags of rice sourced through the Nigerian Customs Service.
Accompanying the governor were Senator Barrister Kaka Shehu Lawan, representing Borno Central, Engr Bukar Talba, a member of the House of Representatives, and Hon Bukar Abatcha, representing Ngala constituency in the House of Assembly.
