How to Make Potato Salad

Potato salad is a classic dish that combines the wholesome goodness of potatoes with a flavorful dressing. This versatile side dish is perfect for picnics, barbecues, or as a tasty addition to any meal. Follow this simple step-by-step guide to make delicious homemade potato salad.

Ingredients:

– Potatoes 

– Hard-boiled eggs 

– Mayonnaise

– Dijon mustard 

– Pickle relish 

– Celery 

– Red onion 

– Salt and pepper to taste

– Paprika for garnish

Step 1: Boil Potatoes

– Wash and peel the potatoes (optional) before cutting them into bite-sized cubes.

– Place the potato cubes in a pot of cold, salted water.

– Bring the water to a boil and cook the potatoes until they are fork-tender.

– Drain the potatoes and let them cool to room temperature.

Step 2: Prepare Eggs

– Boil the eggs until hard-cooked (usually about 10 minutes).

– Once boiled, cool the eggs in ice water, peel, and chop them.

Step 3: Make Dressing

– In a mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, pickle relish, salt, and pepper. Mix well to create the dressing.

Step 4: Combine Ingredients

– In a large mixing bowl, gently combine the cooled potatoes, chopped eggs, celery, and red onion.

Step 5: Add Dressing

– Pour the prepared dressing over the potato mixture.

– Gently toss the ingredients until evenly coated with the dressing.

Step 6: Chill and Serve

– Refrigerate the potato salad for at least an hour to allow the flavors to meld.

– Before serving, sprinkle paprika on top for an extra burst of color and flavor.
