by AgroNigeria

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris Malagi, has said that food prices in Nigeria are gradually falling as a result of President Bola Tinubu’s strategic economic policies aimed at stabilizing the nation’s economy and ensuring food security.

Speaking during the launch of commercial flights at Minna International Airport in Niger State, the minister stated that the Tinubu administration remains committed to improving the welfare of Nigerians through impactful reforms.

“The prices of foodstuffs are dropping gradually in the country following the strategic measures put in place by the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Malagi said.

Although the minister did not outline the specific strategies causing the decline in food costs, he reiterated the government’s dedication to reducing the cost of living and improving food access for citizens.

Malagi also commended the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, for the progress recorded in the Nigerian aviation sector,  particularly the revival of commercial activity at the Minna International Airport.

In a related development, Keyamo announced that the federal government plans to use Minna Airport as an alternative to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

He assured that contingency plans are underway to deploy immigration, customs, police, the NDLEA, and other necessary agencies to ensure smooth operations in case of any disruptions at the Abuja airport.

This development marks a significant milestone in efforts to decentralize airport operations in Nigeria and enhance aviation infrastructure.
