The Kaduna State Government has reiterated its dedication to attracting foreign direct investment, showcasing the success of Arla Farms as a leading example.
Speaking during the Arla Farms Open Day in Damau, Kubau Local Government Area, the state’s Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, highlighted the conducive business environment and streamlined processes that have attracted significant investments to the state.
Dr. Balarabe praised the investment made by Arla Farms, a pioneering dairy project, which has introduced modern farming techniques and technology into Nigeria’s dairy industry.
She emphasized the farm’s positive impact on the state’s economy and local communities, particularly in strengthening the dairy sector and contributing to food security.
“Arla Farms’ investment in Kaduna State reflects the conducive business environment we have created. This project empowers local communities and strengthens our economy,” she said.
The Deputy Governor also noted that Arla Farms serves as a model for resolving the farmer-herder conflict by demonstrating how modern cattle rearing can be both profitable and sustainable.
She assured the company of continued state support and called on the international community to explore the vast investment opportunities in Kaduna.
Arla Farms’ Managing Director, Mr. Peder Pedersen, represented by Elele Ogunsanya, praised the partnership with the Kaduna State Government.
He noted that the farm’s initiatives, such as the Damau Household Milk Farming Project, have provided training and support to 1,000 local farmers, helping to improve productivity and livelihoods in rural communities.
The event attracted diplomats from Denmark, Sweden, and other countries, further highlighting Kaduna State’s growing reputation as a preferred investment destination in Nigeria.
