Kaduna State has commenced high-level preparations for the launch of a $200 million Mega Poultry Project following approval by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the project’s implementation.

Ahead of the project’s groundbreaking ceremony the Honourable Minister of Livestock Development, Alhaji Idi Mukhtar Maiha, held a strategic engagement with the Kaduna State Government to harmonise federal and state responsibilities for the smooth execution of the investment.

Discussions at the meeting focused on aligning policy direction, infrastructure readiness, and operational frameworks required to deliver the project, which is described as one of the largest poultry investments ever undertaken in Nigeria.

The Mega Poultry Project is projected to generate over $450 million in annual revenue and create more than 350,000 direct and indirect jobs across the poultry value chain, including feed production, breeding, processing, distribution, and allied services.

The initiative is expected to strengthen national food security, expand opportunities for smallholder farmers, drive agro-industrial growth, and boost export capacity in the livestock sector.

With Kaduna selected as host, the state is positioning itself as a major centre for large-scale agribusiness and modern livestock production, reinforcing its role in Nigeria’s evolving agricultural and industrial development agenda.
