Katsina Creates Ministry of Livestock Devpt, Makes New Appointments

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has made changes to his cabinet, announcing the appointment of new commissioners and two special advisers as part of a reshuffle aimed at strengthening governance and improving service delivery in key sectors.

In a significant move, Prof. Ahmad Muhammad Bakori has been transferred from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development to lead the newly established Ministry of Livestock Development. 

This new ministry is expected to focus specifically on the growth and development of the livestock sector in the state.

Other notable changes include the appointment of Hon. Adnan Nahabu as the Commissioner for Higher, Vocational, and Technical Education. 

Meanwhile, Hon. Aliyu Lawal Zakari has been redeployed from his role in the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development to head the Ministry of Agriculture.

Hajiya Zainab Musa Musawa will now oversee the Ministry of Special Duties after moving from the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education. Hon. Yusuf Suleiman Jibia has been appointed as the new Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education.

Engr. Surajo Yazid Abukur takes on the role of Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, while Hajiya Aisha Aminu, formerly the Director-General of the Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency, has been named the new Commissioner for Women Affairs.

In addition to the reshuffle, two special advisers have been appointed. Hajiya Hadiza Abubakar Yar’adua has been designated as Special Adviser on Nutrition and Welfare Services, while Isa Muhammad Musa has been named Special Adviser on Cultural Orientation.

Governor Radda has urged all appointees to remain focused on his administration’s vision of fostering sustainable development through the “Building Your Future” agenda, with an emphasis on delivering results for the people of Katsina State. 

The Governor expressed his confidence that these changes will help improve coordination across ministries and enhance the effectiveness of key government initiatives.
