The newly appointed management team of the Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority (LNRBDA) in Ilorin, led by Managing Director Engineer Olusola George-Olumoroti, has vowed to restore the authority to its original mission of ensuring food abundance and security for Nigeria within a year.
Addressing workers, Olumoroti promised to revive the dormant water factory and Basin farms, prioritizing staff welfare while emphasizing the need for increased productivity.
“I shall deploy my wealth of experience to add my quota to Mr. President’s vision for a renewed Nigeria.
“I shall be on the field where and when necessary to see things for myself to make sure that Basin becomes an activity hub that will benefit the staff, management, Nigeria, and our host community,” he stated.
The success of the new management team will depend on effective implementation of their plans, collaboration with stakeholders, and addressing the challenges facing the agricultural sector.
By prioritizing staff welfare, increasing productivity, and promoting sustainable agricultural practices, the LNRBDA can contribute to Nigeria’s food security and economic growth.
