The National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF) has highlighted its strategic priorities for 2025,including priority for seed production and agriculture financing.
Mohammed Abu Ibrahim, Executive Secretary/CEO of NADF, stated this while presenting the budget estimates for 2025 fiscal year before the Joint Committee of the Senate and the House of Representatives.
These priorities include enhancing seed production systems, scaling up agricultural financing, and improving rural Infrastructure to bolster food security and economic growth.
Ibrahim emphasized the importance of these initiatives in advancing the nation’s agricultural sector.
The NADF Executive Secretary also showcased the Fund’s key achievements in 2024, including improved partnerships with stakeholders and the successful implementation of flagship projects like the “Ginger Recovery Advancement and Transformation for Economic Empowerment (GRATE) project”.
Lawmakers commended NADF for its significant progress in 2024, particularly in facilitating sustainable agricultural development across the country.
They stressed the need for increased support to accelerate NADF’s initiatives and ensure timely disbursement of seed capital.
The committees reaffirmed their commitment to collaborating with NADF to advance the food security agenda of the Tinubu administration.
The session was chaired by Senator Saliu Mustapha and Honourable Bello Kaoje.
