Niger Governor Bags Honorary Doctorate Degree in Agriculture

Former House of Representatives member, Hon. Shehu Bawa ABG, has joined prominent Nigerians in commending the Federal University of Technology, Minna, for conferring an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Agriculture on the Governor of Niger State, Mohammed Umaru Bago.

The recognition celebrates Governor Bago’s remarkable contributions to agricultural development, particularly his effective interventions and dedication to developing the agricultural sector in Niger State. 

Hon. Shehu ABG noted that the Governor’s initiatives on food security and the adoption of hybrid farming methods have positioned Niger State as Nigeria’s new agricultural hub. 

“A golden fish indeed has no hiding place. Our amiable Governor continues to receive accolades and honors from individuals and organizations in recognition of his innovative strides, which have positively transformed the agricultural sector in Niger State,” said ABG.

Hon. Shehu ABG also highlighted Governor Bago’s efforts in addressing security challenges that previously prevented farmers from accessing their farmlands. 

“Bago inherited significant 

security challenges. He swiftly collaborated with security agencies and key stakeholders to reverse the situation,” he said. 

The Governor’s efforts have yielded positive results, with an unprecedented boost in agriculture across the state.

Hon. Shehu ABG concluded by expressing his honor and pleasure in being associated with Governor Bago, stating, “May God continue to guide and protect you as you achieve even greater milestones in service to your state and the country at large.”
