As part of efforts to deepen economic cooperation in agriculture and mining, the Niger State Governor, Mohammed Bago welcomed a delegation of Russian businessmen to Minna
According to a statement by the governor’s chief press secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, released on Wednesday, the delegation included representatives of Sber Bank of Russia, the Russian Trade Commission, equipment manufacturers, strategic partners, and Rostselmash, led by Peter Arseniev.
The visit followed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Niger State and Sber Bank on agricultural and mining collaboration.
Governor Bago described the engagement as a demonstration of his commitment to prior agreements and the positive outcomes of his recent trip to Russia.
“This engagement marks the beginning of a promising future for Niger State in agriculture, mining, and other collaborative ventures,” he said.
He assured the delegation of continuous follow-up on the partnership.
The visitors toured local farms and assessed the state’s agricultural potential.
Sammy Adigun, chairman of Niger Foods, highlighted the abundance of land and water resources in Niger State suitable for agricultural development.
“The delegation described their experience as exciting, interesting, and fruitful, noting Niger State’s immense agricultural potential and investment opportunities.
They reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening partnerships and unlocking resources to promote sustainable growth in the state,” the statement added.
