Farmers in Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State have been given 11,000 free cash crop seedlings through a government initiative aimed at enhancing food production for both local use and export.
The distributed seedlings include more than 6,000 cashew, 3,000 cocoa, and 2,000 oil palm varieties.
Governor Dapo Abiodun, represented by the Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Bolu Owotomo, stated that the program is part of efforts to achieve food self-sufficiency in the state.

He added that the government would assist with land preparation and, in partnership with the local government, distribute 60,000 cash crop seedlings during the next planting season.
