In a decisive move aimed at mitigating the prevailing hardship caused by rising food prices and inflation, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR has approved the immediate release of 42,000 metric tonnes of grains from the National Reserve.

It should be recalled that AgroNigeria earlier reported this week that the President sought to release food items from the National Reserve.

Senator Abubakar Kyari, in a statement addressing the nation on Twitter (X), hailed the President’s swift action as a significant stride towards addressing the challenges facing Nigerian families.

The release of these grains is expected, Senator Kyari explained, to boost the food supply chain, consequently leading to a decline in prices across the market.

This initiative seeks to alleviate the financial burden on Nigerian households struggling to meet their basic needs.

“The grains will be equitably distributed across all states in the federation, ensuring accessibility to affordable food for all citizens.

“Furthermore, the grains will be sold at subsidized prices, underscoring the government’s commitment to ensuring food security for all Nigerians,” he said.

Senator Abubakar Kyari commended President Tinubu’s proactive approach in addressing the pressing issue of food shortage, emphasizing the collaborative effort of stakeholders in achieving this milestone.

He then urged collective action towards building a prosperous and resilient Nigeria.
