Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development (FMLD) Dr. Chinyere Akujobi has pledged full support as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu officially swears in Alhaji Idi Mukhtar as the Minister of Livestock Development.
The swearing-in ceremony, held on Monday in Abuja, brought together key stakeholders eager to support Mukhtar’s leadership in this newly established ministry.
During the event, Dr. Chinyere Akujobi, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Livestock Development, expressed her excitement and gratitude, applauding the President’s choice of Mukhtar as the ideal person to lead this critical ministry.
“We are not only excited but fulfilled,” Dr. Akujobi said, noting the importance of Mukhtar’s deep understanding of the sector.
Dr. Akujobi acknowledged the many challenges facing the livestock industry and expressed her confidence that Mukhtar’s expertise would lead to strategic solutions, adequate budgetary allocation, and focused attention on the sector.
“Our new minister is no stranger to the dynamics of this industry,” she added, emphasizing Mukhtar’s experience as a key asset for the role.
In her remarks, Dr. Akujobi stated that the ministry is fully prepared to support Mukhtar’s vision, noting that he already has a roadmap in mind that aligns with the Presidential Reform Committee’s objectives for the sector.
“He’s ready to address the issues strategically,” she expressed, showing optimism for the future of livestock development in Nigeria.
Following administrative preparations, Mukhtar is expected to outline his plans for the ministry, addressing stakeholders and setting the stage for a revitalized focus on livestock and animal husbandry.
