As part of its 2025 Children’s Day Celebration, SAHE Foundation, in partnership with AgroNigeria, is proud to announce the official launch of the Global Youth AgriTech Network (GYANT), a groundbreaking initiative aimed at grooming the next generation of leaders in tech-enabled agriculture.

Themed “Becoming Young Champions of Tech-Enabled Agriculture,” the event will take place on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Ati Annang Foundation, Library Avenue, Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State. It will be a hybrid event, with participants joining from across the globe.

This initiative, which celebrates innovation, youth empowerment, and sustainable development, will feature a keynote address delivered by Engr. Dr. Akpasam Ekanem, a distinguished expert and faculty member in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Akwa Ibom State University, Uyo.

The Executive Chairman of Ikot Ekpene Local Government Council, Hon. (Elder) Aniefiok Nkom, will also grace the event as Special Guest of Honour, alongside other notable dignitaries.

According to Dr. (Mrs.) Idongesit Mbaram, Founder of SAHE Foundation, the Global Youth AgriTech Network (GYANT) will serve as a platform to equip young minds with the knowledge, tools, and mentorship necessary to thrive in the evolving landscape of smart agriculture, digital innovation, and food systems transformation.

Dr. Mbaram also emphasised that the theme of this year’s event is a clarion call to invest in the digital future of agriculture by exposing children and teenagers to cutting-edge technologies and opportunities in the AgriTech ecosystem from an early age.

“We have carefully selected our keynote speaker, a technocrat, trailblazer, advocate for tech-enabled agriculture, and a seasoned educator.

“Event highlights will include a keynote address, panel discussions, student debates and presentations, goodwill messages, and more”, she noted.

Furthermore, the event aligns with the ARISE Agenda of His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, and will showcase how modern technology is transforming the agricultural sector. It particularly aims to guide young people toward embracing innovative and sustainable farming practices.

According to the founder, the launch of the Global Youth AgriTech Network (GYANT) is especially significant as it will serve as a platform for knowledge sharing among young people in the global AgriTech space.
