The Acting Provost of Bauchi State College of Education Technical Dass, Madalla Ajemasu, has pledged the institution’s full commitment to securing and maintaining the operational efficiency of the newly established nursery under the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) Project.

Speaking during the official handover ceremony of the Climate Resilience Project at the college premises in Dass Local Government Area, Ajemasu expressed deep appreciation to ACReSAL for the timely and impactful intervention.

He emphasized the college’s dedication to ensuring the long-term sustainability of the project, aligning its operations with efforts to promote environmental consciousness and academic growth.

The Provost further assured ACReSAL and other stakeholders of the institution’s continued partnership and support for future collaborative initiatives.

According to him, the initiative underscores ACReSAL’s strong commitment to fostering lasting partnerships between development organizations and educational institutions. It forms part of a wider strategy aimed at preparing future generations with the skills, resources, and infrastructure needed to advance sustainable agriculture, climate resilience, and community-led development.

During the handover ceremony, the Bauchi State Project Coordinator for ACReSAL, Ibrahim Kabir, stated that the event officially marked the transfer of ownership, oversight, and maintenance responsibilities of the facilities provided to the institution.

He highlighted that the intervention is in line with ACReSAL’s broader mission to strengthen climate resilience, promote regenerative agriculture, and support sustainable progress through education.

Also speaking at the event, ACReSAL Director Kabir Ibrahim Gamawa explained that the primary aim of the Plant Nursery Project is to cultivate high-quality seedlings of diverse plant species to aid reforestation efforts, encourage sustainable agricultural practices, and serve as a hands-on training center.

Gamawa emphasized that the nursery is expected to significantly contribute to environmental conservation efforts while offering practical learning experiences for students and members of the surrounding community.

The ACReSAL Director called on the Provost and management of the College to assume full responsibility for safeguarding, maintaining, and making productive use of the nursery and its related facilities.

He expressed confidence in their ability to uphold and advance the project’s vision and objectives.
