by AgroNigeria

Around 40 female farmers in Delta State have been awarded grants totaling N10 million to support their agricultural ventures. Additionally, 1,200 vulnerable households received food supplies through a distribution program.

The initiative, organized by the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), founded by Senator Oluremi Tinubu, in collaboration with Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori’s ‘You Matter Charity Foundation,’ aims to alleviate the economic hardships faced by local communities. The grants and food distribution are part of ongoing efforts to assist citizens during these challenging times.

Speaking during the presentation at the Events Centre in Asaba over the weekend, Deaconess Oborevwori, who represented Mrs. Tinubu, said: “Recently, our mother was here to launch a grant of N100,000 for petty traders, and now it is the turn of indigent women in the state.”

She added: “The Renewed Hope Initiative, led by the First Lady, demonstrates a deep concern for the struggles of Nigerians and has set up this program to ease the financial burdens of women, who will, in turn, support their families. Today, we are distributing 1,200 bags of 25kg rice.”

The Governor’s wife encouraged the farmers who received N250,000 each to invest the grants wisely to strengthen and expand their agricultural businesses.
