The National Initiatives for Sustainable and Climate-Smart Oil Palm Smallholders (NISCOPS) is spearheading a transformative journey in Nigeria’s oil palm sector. Focused on championing sustainable and climate-smart practices, particularly among smallholder farmers, NISCOPS is paving the way for a greener and more prosperous future.
In the coming month, NISCOPS will hold an event to launch the second phase of its initiative in Nigeria. Here are 5 things to know about the event.
1. The event will unveil the strategic roadmap for NISCOPS 2, set to revolutionize Nigeria’s oil palm sector. This initiative aims to unlock financial investments and access local and international markets, paving the way for a more sustainable and prosperous future.
2. The event is being hosted by the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the United Kingdom Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO).
3. Dignitaries expected at the event include the Dutch Ambassador, Governors from implementation states, and Federal Ministers of Agriculture, Industries/Trade/Investment, and Environment.
4. The event will feature engaging presentations showcasing the achievements of NISCOPS in its first phase and outlining innovative strategies for the future of sustainable oil palm development.
5. The event is scheduled to take place on the 4th of June at the elegant Ballroom 3 of the Abuja Continental Hotel, located at 1 Ladi Kwali Street, Wuse Zone 4, Abuja, FCT.
