… Gummi Emerges as SWOFON New President
It is a new leadership era for the Small Scale Women Farmers Association in Nigeria (SWOFON), as it commissions new executives.
The association made this known on its X handle (twitter) today with the hashtag #newleadershipera
SWOFON is a coalition of smallholder women farmer groups across Nigeria working together to promote women-friendly agricultural policies and women’s Access to land.
According to the post, Fatima Bello Gummi was proclaimed the new national president, alongside Florence Modupe Ojo as the National Vice President.
Also, Chinasa Asonye and Misan Ruppee emerged as the National Secretary and the National Assistant Secretary, respectively.
Others included; Petuniya Doraty Kefas as the National Treasurer, Abosede Anifowose, National Financial Secretary, Marka Abbas National PRO, Virgina Udeh, as the National Welfare, while Mary Ishaya Afan, is the new Ex- Officio
