The Federal Government has partnered with TechnoServe, Bühler, DSM-Firmenich, and Partners in Food Solutions (PFS) to ensure healthy nutrition through large-scale food fortification.
Toju Ukubeyinje, Country Director of PFS, stated that treating hidden hunger will be cost- effective and present a substantial return on investment for businesses. According to him, resolving this issue requires collaboration from all stakeholders across the industry.
Speaking at a national seminar in Kano, Ukubeyinje emphasized that the partnership is actively coordinating efforts to ensure increased consumption and accessibility of fortified foods for Nigerians.
While addressing the challenge of hidden hunger within the country, he revealed that his organization has enlisted a team of volunteers committed to helping local rice millers to capitalize on opportunities within the food fortification business.
