Senator Bassey Otu from Cross River State has initiated his ‘People’s First’ agenda-focused administration by reorganizing government entities.
This announcement was made during the swearing-in ceremony of 31 newly appointed commissioners who will serve on the State Executive Council.
It was gathered that the Ministry of Agriculture had been dissolved and replaced by the Ministry of Crop and Irrigation Development, as well as the Ministry of Livestock, Aquaculture, and Fisheries Development.
Other Ministries have undergone restructuring, including the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, the Ministry of International Donor Coordination, and the Ministry of Establishment, Training, and Pension.
At the event, the commissioners were assigned their respective portfolios.
Notable assignments include Mr. Mike Odere for Finance, Dr. Hippolatus Ogar Lukpata for International Donor, Dr. Egbe Ayuk for Health, Barr. Ededem Ani for Justice, and more.
There were appointments for roles such as Humanitarian Affairs, Women Affairs, Youths Development, Social Welfare and Community Development, Human Capital and Entrepreneurial Development, and others.
