Terrorists from the Lakurawa group have launched another attack on Kura village, located in Soron Yamma ward, Binji Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The raid, which took place on Tuesday, resulted in the theft of a large number of livestock, but fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported.
However, security sources confirmed that the villagers escaped unharmed, and the raid did not escalate into violence.
In a swift military response, the Nigerian Army successfully recovered 38 cattle that had been rustled by the Lakurawa terrorists in Kalgo village, Sokoto State.
The recovered livestock was promptly returned to their rightful owners in Mera village, Augie Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the army’s operation was conducted without resistance, as the terrorists reportedly fled upon realizing the military’s approach, abandoning the cattle.
This recovery highlights the growing concerns over the activities of Lakurawa terrorists, who have been intensifying their attacks across Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara states.
The continuing rise in such incidents is prompting calls for heightened security measures in these regions.
