The International Food Show, SIAL Paris has marked a historic milestone celebrating its 60th anniversary with record-breaking success.
Over five days, more than 285,000 professionals from around the globe gathered to discuss the future of food, showcasing innovative solutions and setting a high bar for collaboration in the sector, held at the Parc des Expositions, Paris-Nord Villepinte.
The 2024 edition witnessed massive improvements over previous records, drawing an 8% increase in attendance compared to pre-pandemic levels.
Over 7,500 exhibitors from 127 countries showcased their products across 270,000 square meters—the equivalent of 100 hypermarkets.
Audrey Ashworth, the Director of SIAL Paris, commended the massive success of the event with impressive discussions among stakeholders.
In her words: “This 2024 edition of SIAL was marked by exceptional energy. We all felt immense pleasure in meeting up, and it is this unique atmosphere that makes SIAL such an unmissable event!
“The show consolidated its position as a world leader in all things food, with outstanding growth among both exhibitors and visitors.
“In the five days, we realized that, in an increasingly digital world, human contact and collaboration between start-ups and large
companies are essential.”
Speaking at the opening, Annie Genevard, French Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty, and Forests, remarked: “SIAL Paris is an unmissable opportunity for highlighting the major role played by our agri food industries in the value chain of our food sectors and in the industrial fabric.”
Under the patronage of French President Emmanuel Macron, SIAL Paris reaffirmed its status as a vital player in food diplomacy. Representatives from 110 official delegations, including 50 ambassadors and 17 French and foreign ministers, underscored the event’s global significance.
This edition of SIAL Paris featured a festive evening which brought together the communities of planet food to celebrate 60 years of food exploration.
Italy, France, Spain, Turkey, and China emerged as the top exhibiting countries, while France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands topped the list of visitor nations.
