Agriculture, Viable Means to Alleviate Poverty, Senator Tells Youths

Francis Fadahunsi, the senator representing Osun East has described  agriculture as most viable means to alleviate poverty in the nation.

Speaking at a training organised in collaboration with the Taipei Trade Office, Nigeria,  for youths in his senatorial district held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, Fadahunsi emphasized that agriculture is the only viable solution to the nation’s current economic challenges.

He stated that other efforts to revive the economy had failed to produce the desired results.

According to him, “Our interest and investments in the youth in the area of agriculture are not aimed at achieving short-term breakthroughs but at building a lasting foundation for the future economy. I, therefore, suggest that Nigerians embrace agriculture, if only to feed ourselves and our families.

“More importantly, I encourage youths to learn the fundamentals of agriculture so they can become self-sufficient.

“Oil is no longer sufficient to make our country wealthy. Each one of us, regardless of our status, must embrace agriculture. At the very least, it will put food on the table”, he added.
