Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry is a classic and flavorful dish that brings together tender beef slices and crisp broccoli in a savory sauce. This quick and easy recipe is perfect for a delicious homemade meal. Let’s dive into the step-by-step guide.


– Flank steak, thinly sliced

– Broccoli florets

– Soy sauce

– Oyster sauce

– Hoisin sauce

– Cornstarch

– Vegetable oil (for stir-frying)

– Garlic, minced

– Ginger, grated

– Cup beef broth

– Sesame oil

– Green onions, chopped (for garnish)

– Cooked rice (for serving)


1. Prepare the Beef:

   – In a bowl, combine thinly sliced flank steak with 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and 1 tablespoon of cornstarch. Let it marinate for 15-20 minutes.

2. Blanch the Broccoli:

   – In a pot of boiling water, blanch the broccoli florets for 2 minutes until they are slightly tender. Drain and set aside.

3. Stir-Fry the Beef:

   – Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until it’s browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the wok and set it aside.

4. Sauté Garlic and Ginger:

   – In the same wok, add another tablespoon of oil. Sauté minced garlic and grated ginger until fragrant.

5. Combine Sauce:

   – In a bowl, mix together the oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, and beef broth. Pour the sauce mixture into the wok, stirring well.

6. Add Broccoli and Beef:

   – Add the blanched broccoli and the cooked beef back into the wok. Toss everything together, ensuring the sauce coats the beef and broccoli evenly.

7. Finish with Sesame Oil:

   – Drizzle sesame oil over the stir-fry and toss once more to combine.

8. Serve:

   – Garnish with chopped green onions. Serve the beef and broccoli stir-fry over a bed of cooked rice.
