Qualifications:

• Secondary school diploma or equivalent experience

• 3 to 5 years of professional driving experience

• Valid AZ or DZ driver’s license with Air Brake (Z) Endorsement

• Additional certifications preferred:

  • CPR & First Aid

  • WHMIS

  • Defensive Driving Course

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate straight or articulated trucks for local and short-haul deliveries

• Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections of vehicle systems, including tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and related equipment

• Load, unload, tarp, and secure cargo to ensure safe transportation

• Conduct preventive maintenance and report any issues or required repairs

• Maintain accurate driver logs, trip reports, fuel consumption records, and bill of lading

• Communicate effectively with central dispatch and respond to customer inquiries or concerns professionally

• Uphold safety, regulatory, and customer service standards at all times

Documentation & Reporting:

• Prepare and manage documentation such as:

  • Accident/incident reports

  • Driver logbooks

  • Maintenance and inspection reports

  • Trip summaries

Equipment Experience Preferred:

• Roll-off truck

• Dump truck

• Flatbed

• Stone slinger

• Straight trucks (10,000+ lbs / 3+ axles)

Additional Requirements:

• Must pass:

  • Criminal background check

  • Driver’s abstract and license validity check

  • Drug screening

• Must be comfortable driving manual transmission vehicles

• Must have own transportation and a valid driver’s license

• Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

• Physically demanding, repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads

• Dusty environments and extended sitting

• High attention to detail and ability to manage large workloads
