Role Purpose Statement

The Field Recruiter is a key member of the Human Resources team at our San Francisco United HUB responsible for driving full-cycle recruitment efforts for all hourly production and transportation positions at the operational unit. This role works closely with department managers, community partners, and HR leadership to build talent pipelines, execute high-volume hiring strategies, and enhance workforce readiness in a fast-paced, labor-intensive environment. Additionally, this role supports general HR administration to ensure smooth onboarding and employee lifecycle management.

 

Location: near SFO International Airport

Main Accountabilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for hourly operations roles including assembly, culinary, sanitation, warehouse, and transportation.
  • Develop and maintain local sourcing strategies by partnering with workforce agencies, schools, and community organizations.
  • Coordinate and participate in on-site job fairs, hiring events, and recruiting campaigns.
  • Review applications, conduct phone screens, and schedule interviews with hiring managers.
  • Post jobs to internal systems and external job boards; track and update postings.
  • Initiate pre-employment processes including background checks, drug screens, and badging paperwork.
  • Maintain weekly reporting on open roles, hiring activity, and candidate pipelines.

Onboarding & Orientation

  • Assist with new hire onboarding including orientation packet preparation and scheduling.
  • Support uniform distribution, locker assignments, and coordination of airport badging requirements.
  • Ensure new hire documentation is complete and compliant (I-9, E-Verify, etc.).

Administrative & HR Support

  • Maintain employee personnel files and seniority lists for union and non-union staff.
  • Assist in tracking HR metrics and preparing reports (e.g., open position status, hiring activity).
  • Support employee recognition programs and HR-led engagement events.
  • Prepare documentation for audits and support HR compliance activities.
  • Other HR or recruiting administrative duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of recruiting experience, preferably in high-volume, hourly, or industrial environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple roles in a fast-paced, high-turnover environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with candidates and operations leaders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; able to manage paperwork and track multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn internal systems quickly.
  • Comfortable working in field-based operations environments and flexible work schedules.
  • Experience with HRIS or ATS systems (e.g., ADP, SuccessFactors, Fountain) preferred
  • Knowledge of I-9, E-Verify, and airport badging processes a plus.
  • Experience working in unionized environments.
  • Familiarity with FMLA and basic HR compliance requirements.
