Psaltry International, a leading African cassava processing company in Oyo State, has restated its dedication to drive a sustainable agribusiness environment in which cassava farmers and neighbouring communities will benefit immensely.
The company’s CEO, Yemisi Iranloye, responded to criticism regarding delayed payments to farmers, stating that a long-standing payment plan based on a memorandum of understanding has always been in place.
Iranloye emphasized: “This is clearly the work of mischief makers. Our priority has always been to contribute meaningfully to the communities where we operate.”
Psaltry International highlighted its threefold sourcing approach:
– Procuring cassava from pre-funded out-grower farmers
– Sourcing from pre-funded traders to reach remote areas
– Partnering with trained traders for independent supply
The company also noted its support for farmers, including: over N600 million in cassava stems, herbicides, and agricultural loans and annual cassava purchases exceeding ₦1 billion from three main supplier segments.
