by AgroNigeria

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu emphasized the need for collective effort to safeguard Nigeria’s future, stressing that climate change, pollution, and environmental degradation demand immediate attention.

Represented by Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, at the National Environmental Health Excellence Award (NEHEA) 2025, Tinubu commended individuals and organizations contributing to enhanced environmental health standards.

He highlighted the importance of clean air, safe water, and sustainable practices as every citizen’s birthright.

Tinubu also acknowledged environmental health professionals as “unsung architects of our public health,” shielding communities from preventable diseases, climate threats, and ecological decay.

Despite progress, Tinubu urged innovation, collaboration, and sustained investment in sustainable solutions, stating,

“As we celebrate our achievements, we must also confront the urgency of this moment. The escalating climate crisis, deforestation, pollution, and environmental degradation demand immediate and sustained action.”

Tinubu received the Environmental Health Leadership Excellence Award 2025, dedicating it to collective efforts towards embedding sustainability in Nigeria’s development.

Minister of Environment Balarabe Abbas Lawal emphasized Nigeria’s commitment to sustainable environmental health practices, praising Tinubu’s leadership in fostering a cleaner and healthier environment.
