Fed Govt Selects Ekiti as Pilot State for Agric Project in Southwest – Oyebanji

by AgroNigeria

Governor Biodun Oyebanji has announced that the Federal Government has selected Ekiti State as a pilot state for agriculture in the Southwest region.

This development is a testament to the state’s progress in agriculture and its potential to drive food security in the region.

During the January edition of the monthly Evening of Praise and Worship programme, Oyebanji attributed the state’s achievements and transformations to God’s grace, declaring Ekiti a model of good governance, accountability, and integrity.

He acknowledged divine guidance in driving reforms and initiatives that had lifted the status of the state and its people.

The governor highlighted significant strides in areas such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, and economic empowerment, which had improved the quality of life for residents.

“We started this year on a good note, a lot of good things are happening. God has been so good to us, and we are starting this year on a positive and joyful note,” Oyebanji said.

This development is also in line with the state’s goal to prioritize agriculture in its 2025 budget, with the aim of making Ekiti the “food basket” of Nigeria.
