The Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development collaborates with the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV) to review and update methodologies for compensation rates in public land acquisition.
“The collaboration is vital to our ongoing reforms, designed to tackle systemic challenges in land governance and administration,” said Alhaji Abdullahi Tijani Gwarzo, Honourable Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development.
“We are confident in developing a framework that is both effective and sustainable,” Gwarzo added, highlighting the partnership’s significance in Nigeria’s land reforms.
Jeremy Moody, CAAV Secretary and Adviser, expressed pleasure in working with the ministry to achieve its objectives.
Gwarzo noted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda includes comprehensive land reforms, focusing on reviewing outdated compensation rates last updated in 2008.
