The FGN-IFAD Cooperation Open House & Exhibition Fair held on Tuesday in Abuja showcases a vibrant display of Nigeria’s agricultural progress, marking a significant milestone in the country’s agricultural development.
Mr. Richard-Mark Mbaram, highlighted the enduring partnership between the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN), which began in 1985.
Mbaram emphasized IFAD’s crucial role in financing transformative projects that enhance the livelihoods of rural communities.
Meanwhile, addressing the gathering, Dr. Fatima Aliyu, National Programme Coordinator of the Value Chain Development Programme (VCDP), underscored the importance of the occasion.
She emphasized the participation of farmers from the LIFE-ND and VCDP projects who are showcasing their produce at the fair.
“We are here today with all our farmers from the two projects, LIFE-ND and VCDP, to exhibit their products,” Dr. Aliyu said.
“We are honored to have the Associate Vice President, Programme Management Department, IFAD, Mr. Donal Brown, visiting Nigeria for the first time. We want to showcase the work of our farmers in Nigeria. We are also pleased to have the Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, in attendance. We are eager to display our products and the achievements of these two projects.”
