Farmers in Oyo State have expressed their gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, for distributing fertilizers to local farmers.
This initiative, aimed at increasing food production and supporting farmers, has been warmly received by those who benefited from it.
While distributing the fertilizer to his members in Ibadan on Wednesday, Engr. Olumide Ayinla, Chairman of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) in Oyo State, thanked the government for the timely support.
He expressed confidence that this intervention would significantly boost farmers’ productivity and improve their standard of living.
He stated that the fertilizers would enhance agriculture, increase food production, and help reduce poverty among farmers, commending the government for its dedication to the welfare and development of the farming community.
He also lauded Chief Adebayo Adelabu for his pivotal role in facilitating the fertilizer distribution program, praising his transparency and accountability in executing the initiative.
The farmers expressed their gratitude for Adelabu’s efforts, noting that the program has had a positive impact on their lives. With the fertilizer distribution, they are optimistic about their prospects for the upcoming farming season.
He stated, “Adelabu has been a true ally to farmers even before he became Minister, and our association is considering honoring him with the title ‘Baba Agbe of Oyo State.'”
“Anyone who supports farmers is supporting the nation, as many farmers cannot afford to buy a bag of fertilizer.”
He also mentioned that in a few months, the people of Oyo State would begin to see the positive effects of the fertilizer, including a reduction in the price of farm produce.
The association expressed their full support for Adelabu’s gubernatorial ambition for Oyo State in 2027.
In their statements, representatives from the disabled and non-indigenous farmers in Oyo AFAN conveyed their appreciation for President Tinubu’s support, emphasizing their satisfaction with the fertilizer distribution facilitated by Adelabu.
They shared that it had been over a decade since they received such assistance, as they had only seen or heard about similar initiatives on television or radio. They expressed their immense gratitude and happiness today.
