The Plateau Patriotic Front (PPF) has called on farmers in Plateau State to make the most of the $250,000 provided by the state government to boost their livelihoods.

This appeal comes after Governor Caleb Mutfwang recently inaugurated 20 tractors and disbursed $250,000 to support agricultural activities in 10 communities.

According to Mr. Mani Imman, National Coordinator of PPF, “We are thrilled with the Plateau Government’s efforts in the agricultural sector, each step taken brings the state closer to self-sufficiency in food production.”

Imman highlighted the significance of the 20 tractors, saying, “The introduction of these 20 tractors will ease the burden on farmers and encourage young people to make a living in the sector.”

Imman cautioned farmers against misusing the funds, emphasizing that the grants aim to reduce poverty and increase food production.

He commended the Mutfwang-led administration for its efforts to ensure sustainable food production, particularly through the state government’s partnership with the World Bank.

Governor Mutfwang emphasized the state’s commitment to ensuring the funds and equipment are used

judiciously to uplift the people.

He urged beneficiaries to work together and make the most of the opportunity, saying, “This is not your share of the national cake. Don’t become the reason why another community will not make progress.”
