In a heartwarming display of support, House of Representatives member Laori Kwamoti donated assorted food items to flood victims in Demsa Local Government Area, bringing tears of joy to the recipients.
The donation, made in collaboration with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), aimed to alleviate the acute food crisis faced by the victims of the September 2024 flood disaster.
The distributed relief materials included rice, maize, vegetable oil, seasoning, tomato paste, nylon mats, and blankets, targeting communities along the banks of River Benue in Adamawa State. Kwamoti, represented by Dr. Dishi Khobe, emphasized the importance of honest and humane distribution, ensuring all affected persons benefit from the gesture.
Mr. Ladan Ayuba, NEMA Head of Operations in Yola, commended Kwamoti for his dedication to his constituents, saying, “He’s always standing up for his people, not only in the Green Chamber, but also reaching out to government agencies to ensure his people benefit from the federal government in terms of relief and other developmental projects.”
The distribution event was witnessed by notable dignitaries, including the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. James Iliya, and the Chairmen of Lamurde and Numan councils, Mr. Bulus Daniel and Mr. Innocent Koto, respectively.
Mr. Lot Titus, speaking on behalf of the distribution committee, pledged to ensure the items reach the targeted beneficiaries and thanked Kwamoti for his consistent support.
