The Ogun State Government has reaffirmed its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and its livestock development initiatives, pledging continued collaboration between the South and Northern regions to strengthen the livestock sector and promote economic opportunities across the country.
The Special Adviser on Agriculture and Food Security to the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Dr. Angel Adelaja-Kuye, stated this at the One-Day Grand National Thank You Rally held on October 31, 2026, at Murtala Square, Kaduna.
The rally was organised to demonstrate support for President Tinubu and his proposed 2027 re-election bid.
Dr. Adelaja-Kuye, who commended President Tinubu and the Minister of Livestock Development for their interventions in the agricultural sector, said the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development had positively impacted livestock farmers across Nigeria, particularly in Ogun State.
She noted that the ministry’s programmes had benefited different categories of livestock farmers, including cattle ranchers, pastoralists, poultry farmers, small ruminant farmers and rabbit farmers.
According to her, the ministry’s interventions have also contributed to efforts towards peaceful coexistence between farmers and pastoralists, particularly through initiatives supporting livestock development and improved pastoral practices.
She expressed appreciation to the Minister of Livestock Development for his commitment to advancing the sector, adding that the benefits of the ministry’s programmes had been felt across different parts of the country.
The Ogun State government official acknowledged that the livestock sector had experienced several challenges in the past but noted that ongoing interventions were beginning to yield progress and create new opportunities for stakeholders.
She attributed the emerging developments to the Federal Government’s commitment to empowering citizens and expanding economic opportunities through the livestock industry.
Dr. Adelaja-Kuye also declared the support of the South for continued collaboration with Northern Nigeria in advancing livestock development, stressing the importance of national unity and cooperation in unlocking the sector’s potential.
“We appreciate the President for the work he has done to ensure that empowerment and economic opportunities come to the people across the country to support this sector,” she said.
She added: “We want four more years from our President. We want four more years of capacity in this sector.
The South stands fully with you when it comes to livestock development. We stand fully with the President, and we stand fully with our brothers and sisters in Northern Nigeria.”
Dr. Adelaja-Kuye thanked the organisers for the invitation and reiterated Ogun State’s readiness to support initiatives aimed at strengthening livestock production, improving livelihoods and fostering peaceful coexistence among agricultural communities.
