Northern Group Hails Tinubu’s Economic Policies as Food Prices Drop

by AgroNigeria

A Northern group, Arewa Think Tank (ATT), has commended President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies, noting that this Ramadan season has seen a decrease in food prices, a first in Nigeria’s history.

According to Muhammad Alhaji Yakubu, Chief Convener of ATT, “this is the first Ramadan season in the history of Nigeria where prices of food stuff and other commodities have come down instead of going up exorbitantly.”

Yakubu emphasized that despite this positive development, President Tinubu is not receiving the praise he deserves.

“This is happening and nobody is praising Tinubu. But if the prices are going up, people will be hitting the roof top to condemn Mr. President,” he said.

The group noted that food prices have dropped significantly in some areas, with petrol prices also crashing to between ₦825 and ₦865, making Nigerian refined petrol less expensive than imported fuel.

“We expect Nigerians to praise Tinubu now because there are no fuel queues or petrol scarcity, and Nigeria is exporting refined petroleum products to Europe, the Middle East, and Africa,” the group said.

ATT also highlighted the Naira’s significant gain in value, reaching an eight-month high of ₦1458 to $1, making it one of the best-performing currencies in 2025.

The group attributed this success to President Tinubu’s administration, urging Nigerians to support his vision of making Nigeria a $1 trillion economy by the end of his tenure.

As Yakubu concluded, “We should be proud to be Nigerian citizens under the administration of President Tinubu for the wonderful work he is doing to fix our dear country. May we all continue to enjoy peace, progress and prosperity under his able leadership.”
