Ogun Govt.  Pledges to Support Poultry Farmers

Ogun State Commissioner for Agriculture, Bolu Owotomo, has acknowledged Governor Dapo Abiodun’s unwavering commitment to supporting farmers through special intervention programs that will enhance their productivity and profitability. 

Owotomo gave this assurance during the 12th edition of the Nigeria Poultry Show 2023, organized by the Nigeria Poultry Association, with the theme “Mitigating the Challenges of the Poultry Industry: Current Perspective, the Role of Government and Private Sector.” 

The event was held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

The Commissioner noted that both the federal and state governments are aware of the challenges faced by the poultry industry, particularly the high cost of feed, and they are committed to providing an enabling environment, ensuring security, and encouraging cluster farming to ensure a regular provision of maize for the production of poultry feed.

In her goodwill message, the Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture, Abisola Olusanya, emphasized the government’s responsibility towards the sector and affirmed its commitment to taking necessary actions.
