Olam Agri in Nigeria has reaffirmed its dedication to supporting Nigeria’s quest for food security during a recent meeting with the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun.
The gathering, aimed at strategic engagements with key stakeholders, saw the participation of Olam Agri’s Managing Director in Nigeria, Anil Nair, along with other notable figures.
However, this commitment follows a series of engagements, including a visit to the Vice President and a tour of their rice farm and mill with the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security.
During the meeting, the Minister emphasized the importance of Olam Agri leveraging its extensive presence in various value chains to combat food inflation and ensure broader access to quality nutrition.
In response to this, Anil Nail highlighted Olam Agri’s ongoing investments in enhancing productivity across multiple value chains and its efforts to integrate smallholder farmers into empowerment initiatives.
Nair stressed the significance of collaboration with other stakeholders and called for an enabling policy framework to support the government’s food security agenda and foster the development of the agricultural value chain.
