A member of the House of Representatives from Ondo State, Hon. Timehin Adelegbe, has revealed that he distributed a total of 100,000 high-quality cocoa seedlings to farmers in his constituency, as part of his ongoing efforts to support agricultural growth and food production in the region.
Adelegbe, who is serving his second term in the federal legislature and represents the Owo/Ose Federal Constituency, expressed his dedication to fostering development through agriculture.
He highlighted the distribution of 100,000 improved cocoa seedlings as a move to boost agricultural productivity and enhance food production in the region.
In addition to his focus on agriculture, Adelegbe emphasized his commitment to infrastructure development, poverty alleviation, skill acquisition programs, and large-scale empowerment initiatives.
He also pointed out his work in advancing sports development, providing educational support through bursary awards for students, constructing and renovating classrooms, and offering financial assistance to market traders.
Addressing concerns about security in his constituency, Adelegbe explained that he had been actively supporting the local vigilante group, ensuring they are well-equipped to safeguard both lives and properties.
He revealed that the people of Okeluse in Ose Local Government Area had come together to establish a vigilant security outfit, which is now recognized as one of the best in Ondo State.
“We have provided the group with vehicles and essential logistics, and we are planning to extend this security initiative to cover the entire constituency.
“In the House of Representatives, I consistently raise motions addressing issues of insecurity, but I am firmly of the view that a combination of local security measures and state-led policing offers the most effective solution to tackling this challenge,” he said.
