Police Dismiss Reports of Alleged Fulani Herdsmen Attack in Enugu

by AgroNigeria

The Enugu State Police Command has dismissed recent media reports alleging that Fulani herdsmen attacked several villages in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area, killing at least 25 people and displacing residents.

The police described the reports as false, sensational, and deliberately misleading.

In a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the police maintained that no such incidents occurred.

“Our investigations reveal that the story is entirely false and mischievous, with fabricated names and fictitious events that never happened in the state,” Ndukwe said.

He added that the publication appeared to be a calculated attempt to incite fear, mislead the public, and undermine ongoing efforts by security agencies to sustain peace in Enugu State.
