Support Genuine Farmers With Grants, Loans to Boost Production, Agric Stakeholder Urges FG

The Chief Executive Officer of Raymos Guanah Farms, Raymos Guanah, has emphasized the crucial need for government support towards genuine farms with grants, loans and farm inputs in order to boost agricultural productivity.

Guanah made the call on Tuesday during the inauguration of Norsworthy Farms and Agro-Allied Company’s 10-metric-ton-per-hour oil mill in Akwukwu-Igbo.

He, however, urged both state and federal authorities to provide grants, loans, and essential farm inputs to bolster agricultural output and ensure food security nationwide. Expressing concern over the politicization of government programs, Guanah urged for a fair distribution to benefit genuine farmers.

Speaking further, he highlighted Nigeria’s abundant land and favorable climate, emphasizing that the nation should not rely on food imports but prioritize self-sufficiency.

Guanah also commended Dr. Gabriel Ogbechie, Chairman of Norsworthy Farms, for investing in agriculture amid declining oil revenues, advocating for a shift from oil dependence to revitalizing the agricultural sector.

He underscored the importance of large-scale cultivation projects like oil palm farming to reduce imports and enhance domestic production.
