Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, representing Sokoto South Senatorial District, has initiated a massive food aid distribution to over 30,000 households across 244 council wards in Sokoto State.
The gesture, aimed at cushioning the effects of economic hardship and ameliorating the plight of the people, includes bags of rice and capital for small-scale businesses.
“With gratitude to Almighty Allah SWT, we have commenced the distribution of food items. The times are challenging, but we are committed to bringing succor to our people. We are on course. We believe in action as we will be doing all that we can for our people at this critical period in our national lives,” Senator Tambuwal said.
The former Speaker of the House of Representatives also vowed that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto State will do everything possible to reclaim its “stolen” mandate come 2027.
He thanked the party leadership and members for their unity of purpose, which has strengthened the party in the state.
Alhaji Aliyu Bello Goronyo, the state PDP chairman, expressed gratitude to Senator Tambuwal for his leadership and predicted that the PDP would be the party to beat in the state come 2027.
