WAO Honors Promoters of Food Security, Agricultural Innovation

The World Agritourism Organization (WAO) has reiterated its commitment to promoting food security and agricultural innovation with the presentation of prestigious awards to individuals who have made significant contributions in these areas.

The awards were presented at a special ceremony held at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation Hall, Aso Rock, where the theme for the 2025 World Agritourism Day Celebration was also unveiled by the Presidency, represented by the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Political Affairs.

Among those honoured were His Excellency, Evang. Prof. C. J. Osim (a.k.a Oke Mmuo), CEO of AFF Landport Global Estates Ltd and Mega Wealth World, who was awarded the ‘Legacy Street Drive’ for his outstanding contributions to food security and agricultural innovation in the country. 

In his remarks, Osim expressed his surprise at the honour, stating that while he knew good work deserves recognition, he had not anticipated being celebrated in such a manner.

Also honoured was Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the wife of President Bola Tinubu, who was bestowed with the ‘Legacy Street Drive’ award for her support and involvement in agritourism. 

Additionally, His Excellency, Dikko Raddo, Governor of Katsina State, was recognized as the Best Governor of 2024 for his exemplary leadership and support in advancing agritourism. 

Bishop John Sado, the founder and Chancellor of Sado American University, was awarded the ‘Patron of Agritourism’ for his efforts in integrating agritourism into university curricula.

The event was sponsored by International Tourist Choice Ltd., with notable guests such as Hon. Dr. Alih Barnabas, CEO of Aliban De Great Ind Ltd. (Wine Production Company), Amb. Dr. Chinwendu David Umahi (a.k.a Ebeano), Hon. Dr. Chidozie Paschal Nwajiobi (CEO of Next Childon Group), and Amb. Dr. Pharm Abunike Francis Chukwuka (CEO of Nikish Global Ventures Nig), among others.

In his speech, Osim emphasized the high expectations placed on AFF Landport Global Estates Ltd, which has consistently worked towards improving the lives of individuals through real estate, agricultural innovation, and various empowerment services. 

He also reiterated that the company was committed to ensuring food security both locally and internationally, alongside its mission to eradicate poverty. 

“Our goal is to make sure there is an abundance of food in this nation and beyond, and through this partnership with World Agritourism Nigeria, we will create more opportunities for agricultural education and empowerment,” he stated.

The ceremony witnessed the participation of other prominent figures including HRM Amb. Dr. James Arum, Ebube Dike 1 of Africa AFF, Dr. Arthur Anthony Okeyika, CEO of Arthur Energy Group, Dr. Stella Ogechi Ezeagbo, AFF Anambra Senator, Chief Barr. Chukwuma Eze, AFF Global Barrister, and Chief Dr. Amb. Ebosetale David Aigbefoh Esq, a renowned lawyer and businessman.

AFF Landport Global Estates Ltd, is known for its ventures in real estate, organic food production, wine, and pure water manufacturing.
