Dr. Marcus Olaniyi Ogunbiyi has resumed office as Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security.
During the handover ceremony in Abuja, Ogunbiyi expressed gratitude to the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari, and his colleague, Abdullahi Sabi, for the warm welcome.
Ogunbiyi pledged to drive President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda in the agriculture sector, focusing on food and nutrition security, job creation, poverty alleviation, and economic growth.
He emphasized that the agriculture sector is among the top four priority areas of the present administration.
“It is a homecoming, with a PhD in Agriculture Engineering, open door policy, and wealth of knowledge, we will take the Agric sector to higher and higher levels,” Ogunbiyi stated.
He also urged the directors to support the ministers in achieving their mandate, which includes attaining food sufficiency and boosting the economy.
Outgoing Permanent Secretary, Temitope Peter Fashedemi, thanked the management and staff for their support during his tenure and appealed for equal support for his successor.
The ceremony concluded with the signing, handing, and taking over of documents by the outgoing and incoming permanent secretaries.
