Speaking during a visit to the State House in Abuja, ETG Global Chief Operating Officer Mr Niren Murugan explained that the group is strengthening its presence in the country in order to consolidate its investment base, deepen cooperation with the Federal Government, and build stronger partnerships with state authorities.
He noted that the company is positioning itself to play a larger role in agro logistics, fertilizer production, seed development and primary processing.
Murugan revealed that ETG is preparing to commence operations at its expanded oil processing plant in Sagamu, Ogun State in the second quarter of 2026.
He also announced new plans for fertilizer blending centres, seed multiplication projects and an integrated logistics framework designed to support farmers nationwide. In addition, the group is working with several states to establish Centres of Agro Excellence in Kaduna, Ebonyi, Cross River, Ekiti, Jigawa, Nasarawa and Borno.
The centres are expected to function as regional hubs for mechanisation, storage, input distribution and basic processing.
In his remarks, Vice President Kashim Shettima noted that ETG’s renewed expansion reflects the growing confidence of international investors in the economic direction of the present administration. He welcomed the company’s ambition to generate thousands of new jobs and described its sectoral focus as central to the government’s agricultural transformation drive.
According to him, Nigeria offers both the population and the natural resources required for large scale agribusiness investments to thrive. He stressed that the Federal Government remains committed to creating a secure and supportive environment for private firms that are contributing to national food security and rural development. The Vice President praised the company’s upcoming Centres of Agro Excellence and acknowledged ETG’s ongoing work in seed improvement, fertilizer systems and extension services.
