by AgroNigeria

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has encouraged Nigerians to invest in livestock farming, emphasizing its potential for economic growth.

Speaking at the inauguration of a new factory and product launch by Danone Limited, owners of Fan Milk Plc, in Ibadan, Obasanjo said: “I urge the Oyo State Government to turn the state into a dairy centre by tapping into its potential for livestock and dairy production. Educate local farmers on dairy farming and practices.”

Obasanjo commended Fan Milk-Danone for its 60-year investment in Nigeria, saying: “I appreciate Fan Milk-Danone company for its investment in Nigeria for over 60 years.”

Governor Seyi Makinde, represented by his deputy, Bayo Lawal, assured investors of his administration’s commitment to providing an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.

He praised Fan Milk-Danone for its economic impact, quality nutrition, and resilience despite economic challenges.

“Our administration remains committed to providing security and facilities while implementing policies that support businesses,” Makinde said.
